Giovanni Costa

Professore emerito di Fisica teorica dell'Università di Padova

Nato a Rovigo 1' 11 Settembre 1930. 
Laureato in Fisica a Padova nel 1954. Ph.D. in Fisica presso il M.I.T., Cambridge, Mass. (USA) nel 1959. 
Libero docente in Fisica teorica nel 1962.
Professore incaricato di Fisica teorica presso l'Università di Firenze nel 1967/68. Professore straordinario di Istituzioni di Fisica teorica presso la Facoltà di Scienze dell'Università di Bari nel 1969. Professore ordinario di Fisica teorica presso la Facoltà di Scienze dell'Università di Padova dal 1971. 
Research Assistant presso il M.I.T., Cambridge, Mass. (USA) dal 1957 al 1959. Research Associate presso il C.E.R.N. di Ginevra dal 1962 al 1964. Visiting Scientist presso il Rutherford High Energy Laboratory, Didcot (UX.) nel 1967. Docente presso l'Università di Losanna nel 1978/79. Visiting Professor presso l'Istituto di Fisica Teorica di San Paulo (Brasile) nel 1976 e presso il Center for Advanced Studies dell'Università di Virginia, Charlottesville (USA) nel 1980. 
Direttore della Scuola di Perfezionamento in Fisica dell'Università di Padova dal 1979 al 1985 e Coordinatore del Corso di Dottorato in Fisica di Padova dal 1983 al 1989. Vice-direttore del Dipartimento di Fisica di Padova nei periodi 1973-76 e 1994-96. Presidente del Corso di Laurea in Fisica dal 1997 al 1999. Pro-Rettore dell'Università di Padova dal 1988 al 1993. Membro della Società Italiana di Fisica e della European Physical Society.
